It is likely that you have by now, read several times that we, at Gwynedd Council, are seeking to ‘put the people of Gwynedd at the heart of everything that we do’ by following the principles of Ffordd Gwynedd. But what does this really mean?
The first step is understanding the needs of the people of Gwynedd and asking the question “what is important to you?” By asking this question, we can look at our services and measure how effectively we address these needs.
Of course, it is not always possible to address all needs of our residents. But by looking carefully at our teams, systems and processes and challenging them we can strive to achieve the best for the people of Gwynedd.
In order to do this successfully, we must look into the mirror and be willing to ask difficult questions. Challenging the procedures, challenging the system and even challenging ourselves.
Given this, we have decided to create a brand new session to encourage Council staff to challenge. We also hope that the session will be the first training session in the Council to gain CPD accreditation. There is a lot of work ahead, but we are looking forward and eager to get going. We will be giving regular updates to you regarding the development of the session on this blog.
